Chapter 4 - Ageing |
| |
1. |
Ancestors, aeon there are times in each life when there is no one.
2. |
No one with whom to share
3. |
a word, |
4. |
a laugh, |
5. |
a sad remembrance, |
6. |
a gentle touch, |
7. |
a fond embrace,
8. |
a kiss of love. |
9. |
Bless each one who suffers |
10. |
from such loneliness. |
11. |
Enrich life with a friend |
12. |
or gentle stranger |
13. |
who will spend a moment |
14. |
noticing and loving. |
15. |
In those times |
16. |
your love shines through, |
17. |
the world is reborn, |
18. |
and awareness is known. |
19. |
So be it! |
20. |
Ancestors, I call on you to hear my call.
21. |
Grant me the peace to see the time I have left, not as a curse but as a blessing.
22. |
Help me to reflect on my life, the good and the bad,
23. |
so that I might have the time in my own mind to close any unfinished business.
24. |
Grant me the awareness so see things for as they are at all levels.
25. |
Give me serenity. |
26. |
So let it be. |
27. |
May all beings everywhere plagued
28. |
with sufferings of body and mind
29. |
quickly be freed from their illnesses.
30. |
May those frightened cease to be afraid,
31. |
and may those bound be free.
32. |
May the powerless find power,
33. |
and may people think of befriending
34. |
one another. |
35. |
May those who find themselves in trackless,
36. |
fearful wilderness-- the children, the aged, the unprotected--be guarded by your love,
37. |
and may they swiftly attain Awareness.
38. |
Nothing is forgotten. Everything is saved.
39. |
May each day bring a blessing,
40. |
hope, and greater love.
